Analysis of Influencing Factors of Resin Bond Diamond tools

1. The impact of resin bond, including the bond types and its content and so on.

(1) The common characteristics of various resin bond diamond tools is poor heat resistance. In the processing of the workpieces, the heat between the diamond tool and the workpiece will be easy to make the local temperature too high. Once it is more than the critical value, the diamond powder will fall off, so that increase the processing costs. At present it is mainly through the modification of the resin bond to improve its heat resistance.

(2) The effect of resin bond content. The resin bond content has a great influence on the processing performance of diamond tools. The hardness and compressive strength of the grinding wheel are gradually increased when the content is increased to a certain extent, and the abrasion rate of the grinding wheel tends to be slow. The surface of the wheel is prone to clogging phenomenon. At the same time the higher the content, the more serious the phenomenon of congestion.

(3) The effect of resin bond grit. Resin powder particles are mostly between 80 to 180 mesh. Such a particle size range, there are two defects. One is the impact of abrasive forming performance; the second is likely to affect the bond performance. In the process of pressing, the resin powder can be softened in high temperature, and have a certain mobility to achieve the purpose of coating abrasive. But in the compression process the bond is compressed in the mold, the space is limited. The resin flow range Also limited, when the resin powder particle size is rougher, there will be some abrasive bonding is not strong, and thus too fast off. Studies have shown that when the fine resin particle size can improve the flow of forming materials. It is conducive to the tools forming.

 2. The impact of filler, including the type of filler and the content and so on.

Filling material is an important part of diamond tools. Adding the right amount of filler material can not only greatly reduce the cost, but also improve the mechanical strength of the abrasive to extend the service life.

   There are many types of fillers, and the effect of adding different kinds of fillers is also different.

It can be divided into four categories as per nature and use:

Un-lively filling material. Used in the plastic process, the purpose is to reduce the cost of abrasive;

lively filling material. Plasticizing adsorption effect, so that the abrasive and binder bonding capacity increased;

reinforcing filler. Such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, etc., the purpose is to increase the strength of the binder;

reduce the strength of the binder filler. Make dressing tools.

In the superhard material resin bond tools, its role is mainly used to improve the heat resistance of the bond, hardness, strength. The ultimate goal is to improve the durability.
